Cheryl Wilson BSc (Hons) Nutritional Therapy MBANTDirector of Nutritional TherapyCheryl graduated from the University of Westminster’s highly acclaimed honours degree course in Nutritional Therapy. She considers herself a ‘general practitioner’ of nutrition, with a wide focus on a multitude of conditions. She has a particular interest in chronic fatigue syndrome, food intolerances, autoimmune conditions and weight loss. Cheryl is a good food enthusiast and a firm believer that restrictive diets can do more harm than good. She aims to incorporate variety and enjoyment of food into her practice. Cheryl empowers her patients with her down-to-earth approach to aid them in reaping the benefits of nutrition that she has personally enjoyed. Cheryl was promoted to Director of Nutritional Therapy in 2008 and practices at our clinics in Harley Street, Victoria and Richmond.
Barbara Powell BSc (Hons) Nutritional Therapy MBANTBarbara truly believes in the effectiveness of nutritional therapy in dealing with many of today’s health issues. Its holistic approach allows the practitioner to work towards understanding the underlying cause of a problem rather than just applying a ‘sticking plaster approach’. She also believes that everyone is unique and so works with clients, offering support, to enable each individual to achieve their personal health goal. Barbara has a special interest in digestive health, stress related issues, hormonal health, weight issues, fatigue and children’s health. Barbara is actively involved in school meal analysis for various local education authorities in the UK and also works with Private Nursing Homes in an attempt to improve food and nutrition for the elderly. As well as a BSc (Hons) in Nutritional Therapy, Barbara holds a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics and Diplomas in Nutritional Therapy and Anatomy & Physiology, and Certificates in Dietary Counselling and Biochemistry.
Moya Layton BSc (Hons) Nutritional Therapy MBANTMoya Layton initially graduated as a teacher of French and English from the University of Manchester. She is a qualified NLP Practitioner and has a BSc in Nutritional Therapy from the University of Westminster, London. She is married to actor and writer George Layton. Having suffered personal experience of IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) Moya gained a unique understanding of this debilitating condition, which prompted her to study nutrition. IBS represents a complex interplay between mind and body and Moya has a particular interest in this mind/gut connection. Moya is also interested in the natural approach for the treatment of depression (which can also feature in IBS) and her final year dissertation was on the use of the supplement 5HTP (5 hydroxytryptophan) in the treatment of depression. Whilst there is no magic herb, drug, vitamin or mineral that can cure IBS, an individualized approach which addresses nutrition, lifestyle and stress management can offer significant improvements and relief from this disabling and frustrating disorder that impinges on so many lives. Moya runs her specialist IBS Clinic at the Victoria branch of National Nutrition Clinic every Wednesday between 11:00am and 7:00pm.
Dr Virginia Mortimer MBBS BSc RCSTDr Virginia Mortimer is that rare combination – a ‘traditional’ medical doctor who has also trained in complimentary therapy and has a strong belief in the power of effective nutrition. With more than a decade of experience to draw on, Dr Mortimer takes a holistic approach to your wellbeing while remaining totally focused on helping you meet your weight loss objectives. She is exclusively involved in the Executive Weight Loss Programme which runs at our Harley Street clinic.
Joseph Oyebanji BSc (Hons) Nutritional Therapy MBANTJoseph is one of that rare breed - a male nutritional therapist! A graduate of Westminster University's renowned degree course, he combines his nutrition skills with a deep knowledge of exercise and fitness based on several years experience as a Personal Trainer. National Nutrition Clinic is excited to bring Joseph's unique mix of skills to our patients - he can provide our nutrition consultations, support patients on the Personal Weight Loss Programme and, uniquely, provide fitness and exercise consulting sessions on a one to one basis. This can be provided to indviduals or to members of your corporate team.
Carmel Pickering BSc (Hons) Nutritional Therapy MBANTPrior to Carmel's nutrition career she worked within Investment Banking in the City of London, so completely understands how stress, a busy lifestyle and working late can play a large part in making poor dietary choices and impact your health. She has had first hand experience of making life-long dietary changes, providing her with an insight as to how positive dietary changes can provide zest and vitality for life. Carmel has a particular interest in healthy weight loss and is a passionate advocate of how simple dietary changes can really make a difference to health, weight and energy. As well as a member of BANT she is a member of the Nutrition Society and approved by the NHS Directory of Complementary Medicines.
Yee Liu Williams BSc (Hons) NAET Allergy TherapistOur Allergy Clinic is run by Yee Liu (pronounced eeloo) Williams BSc (Hons) Therapeutic Bodywork; MISRM, MSMA, MCThA, ITEC Dip. She qualified in Therapeutic Massage (2003), Sport and Remedial Massage (2005) and has a first class honours BSc in Health Sciences & Therapeutic Bodywork at Westminster University (2007). She is a member of the Institute of Sport and Remedial Massage (ISRM), Sports Massage Association (SMA), Complementary Therapies Association (CTha) and registered member of NHS directory. Yee Liu is a fully qualified NAET practitioner, one of the first in the UK. She is excited to be bringing these techniques to bear on UK allergy sufferers, especially when combined with the Asyra KT3 screening technology. "This means I can assess a patient through consultation then confirm my analysis with a screening. That way I can focus the treatment plan exactly where it is needed to achieve the best results in the shortest time". Yee Liu also screens our patients for food intolerances and vitamin and mineral deficiencies.
Breeda McBrearty BSc (Hons), Dip ION, SRN, MBANTAs a state registered nurse and qualified nutritional therapist, Breeda strongly believes that the food we eat has a huge impact on how we feel, and is important in the prevention of illness and the maintenance of good health. She has an interest in all aspects of health with a particular focus on coeliac disease and adrenal fatigue. Breeda is a member of the Nutrition Society and sits on a committee of the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT) a professional body, which imposes a strict code of ethics and practice on its members. Breeda is also approved by the NHS Directory of Complementary Medicines and is a registered PRU Health and Cigna Health provider.
Dr Magda Robinson B.M.Dr Robinson is one of that rare breed - a fully qualified doctor with a background in traditional medicine who has embraced some aspects of complementary medicine. She recognises the importance of treating the whole patient, not just specific symptoms. She has helped thousands of patients to lose weight in personalised programmes for more than ten years, and is actively involved in developing our programmes. Magda has appeared on television as a medical adviser and is a member of National Nutrition Clinic's expert speaker panel. |
